Our Popular Cosmetic Treatments

Teeth Whitening

There are so many options when it comes to teeth whitening that the task of which brand or which shade can seem like a daunting task. At McCullough Dental we offer prescription teeth whitening designed specifically for your current teeth and the teeth you plan to achieve.

With our Life-Like solution tailored to your smile needs, you can attain the smile you’ve always dreamed of! Not only is this product safe but it is very effective in removing lifelong stains caused by your favorite beverages like coffee.

The easiest part of this solution is it comes in a simple take-home tray with instructions from Dr. McCullough so you can whiten your teeth on your schedule and in the comfort of your own home!

Porcelain Veneers

Ever wonder how movie stars have such perfect teeth and smiles? The answer is porcelain veneers. Now you can have an academy award-winning smile with the simple addition of veneers to your already golden age smile.

Veneers are simply thin shells that bond to your current teeth to create an effortless and natural look. They’re made to cover and solve:

  • Gaps.
  • Stains.
  • Crooked teeth.

A great bonus with veneers is you’ll get new teeth sculpted into your dream smile and you won’t have to whiten your teeth! At McCullough Dental we use 3D imaging of your teeth with CEREC technology to create the veneers for your mouth and this allows for them to be placed on the same day as your appointment.

Dental Crowns

Crowns sit right on top of your current tooth or implant and will match with the rest of your teeth so you can have a natural-looking smile. Similar to veneers we can have your crown ready on the same day as your appointment to make the process even easier.

Our crowns last on average 10–15 years due to their advanced technology and high quality. Crowns will protect your teeth for years to come and will make your smile all the more stunning!

A dental crown could be a great addition to your smile if you have:

  • Cracked teeth.
  • A chipped tooth.
  • A tooth this has been worn down.
  • A missing tooth.

Invisalign Orthodontics

Braces straighten your teeth and leaves them looking neat and aligned. The downside to braces is the wires, brackets, and bands. When you look back on your photos, you might see a mouth full of metal that makes you want to hide your smile. Invisalign clear aligners change all that.

These clear aligners can be removed when eating, sports, or whenever you want. They are designed specifically for your mouth and your smile goals.

The aligners change gradually with each aligner slightly different from the last one. This is done so your teeth straightening journey can be a comfortable one that gradually moves your teeth into their proper places.

Dental Implants

Not only are dental implants a way to help fill in a missing tooth for a fuller smile but they help protect your mouth from numerous problems. Dental implants stimulate your jaw so that it doesn’t grow weak.

When a tooth is missing your other teeth will try to fill the gap on their own which will affect your bite and create crooked teeth. The biggest reason to get a dental implant is to prevent bacteria from growing in that space and causing further damage and additional treatment.

Our practice does the whole dental implant and crown installation in-house so you can come to our location in Bakersfield to get everything done in one easy sweep.

Dental Bridges

This dental treatment bridges the gap in your smile. Whether you have multiple missing teeth or just one, a dental bridge is a cost-effective and reliable service. Dental bridges are designed to look realistic and be strong so you can eat and enjoy life without making significant lifestyle changes.

The bridge uses your existing and natural teeth as anchors to support itself. It includes life-like prosthetics that fill the gaps in your smile This will preserve your bite and keep your teeth from shifting.

Dental Bonding

For small chips and breaks, we can use dental bonding to patch up your teeth. Dental bonding is a malleable resin material that we can use to build up your broken tooth. This resin can be color-matched to coordinate with the tooth in question. The treatment won’t stand out at all!

Once the bonding has been applied, we’ll heat it using a special light. This causes the resin to harden and bond to your tooth.

Smile Makeover

With our technology and expertise we can offer a full smile makeover treatment plan so you can get an idea of the services that can work for your mouth. When should you consider a smile makeover?

  • In preparation for an important life event such as a wedding.
  • To treat yourself with a new look.
  • To take advantage of multiple cosmetic treatments all at once.

If you would prefer to pick out the services for the makeover we can point you to the ones that would work for you and help this restoration go as smoothly and efficiently as possible for you. Surprise your friends and family with a smile that will be the highlight of every event.

Common Cosmetic Dentistry Questions

Are All Treatments Performed in Bakersfield?

Yes, we have all of our services in-house so there are no additional stops to your smile and no other providers that you will need to discuss your teeth with. You will not need to be referred to other offices for the same procedure. Not only are all the services in one location, but our practice is close to the highway for an even easier commute.

How Experienced Is the Dentist?

Dr. McCullough was at the top of his class at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry! He received his BS at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, studying pre-medicine biology with a double minor in chemistry and psychology. Due to his academic success, he completed a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston.

As our patient reviews show, our office has had plenty of experience and achievements throughout our time in Bakersfield with all of our staff having significant prior experience in this field and the services we offer.

How Affordable Are the Typical Cosmetic Treatments?

Our office has an annual membership plan, one for adults and another for children. This plan includes one basic cleaning and exam once every 6 months, unlimited x-rays (Excludes CBCT or Pano), oral cancer screening, intraoral camera exam, fluoride once a year, and 20% off courtesy savings which include most major procedures.

What Kind of Results Are Typical in a Given Time?

Due to our advanced technology and expertise, most cosmetic treatments will be done on the same day as your appointment.

For longer treatments like clear aligners and dental implants. Implants require several visits and a few months of healing and Invisalign clear braces can take anywhere from 6-18 months of consistent wearing to get the results you want.

The teeth whitening timetable is dependent upon your availability and the level you hope to achieve. It may take a few weeks, but you can whiten your teeth from the comfort of your own home and don’t need to come to the office more than once.

How Long Do the Results Last?

With regular dental visits and proper dental care, our cosmetic dentistry results can last longer. Each service has differences and that will affect the length of the results. After your appointment check with Dr. McCullough as to how long the treatment should last, but on average, this is how long each treatment lasts:

  • Teeth Whitening: Up to 5 years for non-tea and tobacco users.
  • Porcelain Veneers: 1–3 decades.
  • Dental Crowns: 1–3 decades.
  • Invisalign Orthodontics: A lifetime—assuming you wear your retainers properly.
  • Dental Implants: A lifetime (though the crown may need replacing sooner).
